I enjoyed teaching Basic Mountaineering- though it took up much of my extra time between my jobs(yes plural, ugh).
I wanted to quickly put up a few photos from our final “grad climb”– we attempted Coxcomb, a beautiful 13er down in the San Juans. — I said attempt. We were thwarted by terrible, annoying, god awful, snow.– It was very deep, and post-holey.
We crossed a swift moving river, with ice cold water- and ended up having to retreat to sleep in a snowfield. It was an adventure.
